Biography

Ki-Tae Koo DDS, MS, PhD. received his Dental Degree at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea.
He then obtained his Master of Science degree in Oral Biology from Temple University in 2003. During this time he also received advanced training in Periodontology.
In 2007, Professor Koo received his Doctorate in Periodontology from Yonsei University.
He is currently a Professor (tenured) at the School of Dentistry, Seoul National University as well as the former Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs. Additionally, Pf. Koo serves as an adjunct professor at Georgia Regents University.
He has over 100 publications in peer-reviewed international reference journals and continues to conduct research in areas such as: Extraction socket management in severely compromised sockets, Periodontal wound healing, and clinical treatment of Peri-implantitis.
He now serves as the editor for the Journal of the Korean Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants and Expert Council Member for the Osteology Foundation. He has become an ITI Fellow in 2019 and also leads a research group with interests in dental regeneration, tissue engineering and oral implantology.
Professor Koo has started his journey as an international speaker for the Osteology Foundation since 2016 and actively participates in international lectures, courses and programs in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. He has also won the first prize in Clinical Research at the 2019 Osteology International Symposium in Barcelona.
